The Gospel Of Grace Series: You Should Know What The Bible Really Teaches

So much has been said about the gospel of grace, its revolutionary teachings have flooded the Church lately. So much also has been said about the danger of such teachings in the wake of an unprecedented rise in unholy living, even in the body of Christ. One school of thought believes in the totality of liberty by God’s grace, while others, though acknowledging the liberty this grace brings, believe that the preaching and teaching of “extreme grace” will lead to living in sin.

I believe the Bible is the final authority on any subject in God’s kingdom, and as Christians (especially preachers and teachers of the Bible) we must give ourselves to all it has to say, not appropriating certain portions to fit into our denominational doctrines and simply disregarding the rest.

The fullness of God’s power is manifest when we walk in the absolute truth of the word, not when we believe just a part of it. The contradiction of opinions on the subject of grace will definitely keep both parties from enjoying God’s best.  

This is why God has set various offices in the Church—Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers—to build up the saints to the full measure of the statue of Christ. The essence of any God-ordained ministry will always be to bring the people into the fullness of the knowledge of Jesus Christ in all truth (Ephesians 4^11-13).  

The gospel of grace is the gospel of Jesus Christ (Acts 20²⁴; Galatians 1^6-7), and the teaching of grace is the key to the revelation of Jesus Christ. This is why I believe there has been so much perversion in the teaching of grace, which is Satan’s ultimate plan to rob us of God’s power (Romans 1¹⁶).

Friends, that plan is from the pit of hell and it is against Christ and the Church and unless we give due reverence to the Holy Spirit we will not walk in victory. When the Holy Spirit, Whom Jesus said will guide us into all truth (John 16^12-13), is not given His rightful place of authority and sovereignty in the Church, the teaching of the Word and the teaching of grace will be received through sense knowledge which is the root of all shallow spiritual experiences. 

The Holy Spirit is our guide into the depths of God’s word; He brings us into the awareness of the treasures of God’s amazing grace (1^st Corinthians 2^7-12), without Him we will interpret the Bible in such a way that wanders off the path of spiritual understanding. 

The erroneous teachings and beliefs`` on the subject of grace is therefore a clear indication that Satan, the god of this world, is more determined than ever to keep people in the dark (2^nd Corinthians 4^3-4). It also shows that the Holy Spirit has been relegated to the back and the word is taught without light, understanding and power.

Does the gospel of grace truly liberate us from the power of sin; is it just a convenient platform to indulge in sin? That is what this series is all about. Let’s look forward to the next teaching, trusting the Holy Spirit to lead us into the truth, and the truth will indeed make us free.
