While you might like being cozy and warm at night, it’s actually important to have a cooler environment when you sleep, says Lisa Shives, MD, who sits on the National Sleep Foundation’s board of directors. “Your body temp progressively declines as you sleep, which is a natural tendency of the body, so being too warm with heavy PJs and blankets can disrupt that.” Sleeping naked, she says, can help your body stay cool.

Brad Pitt allegedly has a “crush” on 12 Years a Slave actress Lupita Nyong’o, and it’s “landed him in hot water” with Jolie, National Enquirer claims.

GRUESOME: 4 Teenage Boys Stab Man To Death In Abuja [GRAPHIC IMAGE]

When a group of teenage boys unleashed terror on Utako Village last week, little did indigenes and residents of the village know that what initially appeared like the usual fight among boys would degenerate to the extent of causing the death of one of their own.

The victim, Alhassan Musa had woken up that fateful day oblivious that death was lurking around. If anyone had told him the boys in the neighbourhood who were in the habit of fighting one another were capable of killing, he would probably have doubted it.

Indeed, if he had known that staying at home on the evening of Thursday, January 23, 2014, would cost him his life, he would probably too have elected to move out of the area. But like they say, death does not give its victims notice in advance.

Eight farmers were, yesterday, arraigned before a Makurdi Chief Magistrate Court for allegedly stripping a widow, one Mrs. Ann Adikwu, and parading her at a market square in Orokam, Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State.

Keeping a teenager focused on God is important as they begin to experience proms, dating, college and a host of other changes that occur in their life. According to Gina McClain, children change as they become teenagers, and the beliefs they held onto as children begin to change. No longer will they depend on their parent’s ideals and beliefs – they begin to seek truth on their own terms. This is quite normal and part of the growing process, says Gina.

However, parents have the tendency to impede this process by telling their teenager that their beliefs are wrong. They sometimes laugh at the solutions their child conjures up to solve a problem. None of this is helpful in the long run. This can cause the teenager to become indecisive – not trusting the choices they make. Awful: Man Rapes And Impregnates His 14-Year-Old Daughter In Lagos

A thirty-six-year-old man identified as Aminu Ajao, was arraigned on Monday January 20th 2014 before an Ebute Meta magistrate court for allegedly raping his 14-year-old daughter. The girl, a primary school student, reportedly got pregnant for her father as a result of the rape

According to the Police, the incident happened on Wale Azeez Street, Ajasa, Lagos State.

The magistrate, Ms S.O Solebo, called the victim’s mother and her stepmother to court to give an account of how the event unfolded.

The victim’s mother, who did not disclose her name in court, said she had separated from Ajao and had remarried.

She said, “After our separation, I took my daughter to live with my mother. But in October, 2013, he went to my mother’s house and took her from there.

We see politicians, leaders and businessmen and women in church, and we don't seem to understand why. We think that they are just there to score some more points and probably become more popular; maybe that's what some do; but those who are wise do so with understanding. A widow and mother of two was stripped naked by angry mob and conveyed in a wheel barrow back to her fathers house for alleged adultery in Umuozu, a community in Nwangele LGA , Imo State.

According to reports, the woman is a known serial adulteress and when the villagers thought they couldn’t bear it anymore they stripped her naked, put her into the wheel barrow with her two children. With the youths singing war songs in the background, she was finally returned to her father’s compound which is a nearby community known as Isiala.

An eye witness disclosed that the woman was caught in the act though the youths who took charge of sending her back to her father’s house, failed to reveal who her partner in the said crime was. The youths were said to have become angry when just few days after her husband’s death, she was caught having sex with one of her partners in crime.

A baby boy has been born into the family of former Minister of State, Interior, Humphrey Abah and wife Mary, after 23 years of marriage.

The couple’s first child was born miraculously after doctors had said Mrs Humphrey was not able to bear children.

After 23 years of marriage, Mary, wife of former Minister of State, Interior, Humphrey Abah has delivered her first baby.

A thanksgiving service attended by top government functionaries and other dignitaries was held in Abuja on Sunday at the United Evangelical Church, National Worship Centre to celebrate the birth of the baby.

Abah who said for twenty-three years his political opponents laughed at him for not been able to father a child was grateful to God for finally granting his desire.

Lupita Nyong’o Wins Screen Actors Guild Awards 2014 [SEE Full List Of Winners]

The Hollywood Award season that kick-started with the Golden Globes, continues with the Screen and Actors Guild Awards (SAG Awards) that recognises outstanding performances in film and primetime television. Old and new names have have been able to grab the statuette this year, most significant newbie is Lupita Nyong’o who won in the category of best supporting female actor for her role in 12 Years a Slave.

Lupita Nyong’o is a Kenyan actress and film director. She made her Hollywood film debut in Steve McQueen’s 12 Years a Slave, as Patsey for which she’s been nominated for several awards. She won Critics’ Choice Movie Awards for Best Supporting Actress and New Hollywood Award in the 17th Hollywood Film Awards.

How Sad: 3-Year-Old Nigerian Boy Crushed To Death By Lift In Ireland

A Nigerian boy, Solomon Soremekun, was crushed to death by a lift after getting out of his pushchair and walking into the shaft, Irish media reported on Wednesday.

According to reports, Soremekun was in the company of his mother and three siblings at the time of the incident.

He reportedly got out of his pushchair after he became separated from his family on the first floor and went through open lift doors into the shaft. Unfortunately, the lift came down and crushed him.

Yewande Akilapa is an upcoming Nollywood actress. She has made the news, not for acting, but for her involvement in theft.

Accordinf to reports by Stella Dimoko Korkus, Akilapa was caught stealing on Sunday January 12th 2014. Prior to this she had been arrested for theft in 2013, "Her matter was in the news in February 2013, when it was reported that she was arrested for robbery by the police in Alade, in Somolu area of Lagos State. She was later taken to court by the police for prosecution, but she was discharged and acquitted after the court said her prosecutor didn’t present a proper case that could lead to her conviction".

Another incident occurred on Sunday where she was caught red-handed and beaten by an angry residents before she was taken away by the police.

For whatever it is you desire to do, there's a time for it; same for whatever you are destined to be and for whatever God has asked you to do. This time I'm talking about is your own time and not another's. In other words, your times are different from that of another's own, the same way we were born at separate times. That's why it's unhealthy to compare ourselves with others, or to live a life of imitation.

Consider this: Jesus came to the earth to fulfil the most important task ever, but note that neither Him nor God the Father were in a hurry to get Him to the cross. He didn't die for man at age 12; He didn't even start ministering until He was about 30! People were dying all along, but Jesus waited until the time was right.

In the kingdom of God, praise is a hotline. You know, hotlines are setup for emergencies and for communication between heads of government. Whenever you want God to act swiftly, praise Him!

Praise is not only done through singing as we think, it can be spoken as well. You praise God when you ascribe power, glory and honour to Him; when you speak of His might; when you appreciate His works; when you testify of His wonders; and when you call Him His names and say who and what He is as revealed especially in His word.

This song is a great one: "What shall we do today? Today o, I will lift up my voice to praise; for I know, You are always there for me, Almighty God, You are my all in all, no matter what I face, when trouble comes my way I will praise the Lord!" Timid people changed the lyrics to "when success comes my way." But the man who praises is not afraid of trouble; because he knows that as king, as soon as he begins to praise, he connects with the King of Kings, and that there will be a speedy divine intervention! Hallelujah!

Jonah 1:3-4 NKJV "But Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord... But the Lord sent out a great wind on the sea, and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so that the ship was about to be broken up."

The Lord sent Jonah on an errand to witness to the people of Nineveh but for some reason he chose not to go; instead he decided to flee to Tarshish. But God was determined to get the job done still using Jonah and He made Jonah do His will. That was one time God was bent on having His way.

Final Farewell: Wole Soyinka's Daughter Laid to Rest In Oyo (PHOTOS)

Wole Soyinka's daughter Iyetade Soyinka was laid to rest on Friday January 10th 2014 in Ibadan, Oyo State.

A funeral service was held at the Chapel of Resurrection, University of Ibadan and buried at Ultimate Gardens cemetery.

It was a very sad and emotional vent as guests in attendance could not hold back their tears.

Among those in attendance were the former Governor of Cross River Mr Donald Duke.

Very Rev. Kunle Oyelade gave the sermon at the funeral and two Two of the deceased sisters, Moremi and Peyibomi in tears read some of the poems the deceased wrote when alive.

Described as a very religious, kind-hearted, nice and generous woman, Soyinka died at the age of 48 at the University of Ibadan Teaching Hospital after a brief illness.
